So another Christmas has come and gone. It's weird how so little real value it has. It's weeks of anticipation and holiday-themed shows and movies, to be capped off with an hour or so of presents and a larger than usual meal. But other than that, Christmas was pretty much over around 1p.m. So really, I guess, Christmas in this day and age is more about December, and not just the day. I'm sure it holds more value to religious people, but to everyone else it's just a commercialized excuse for (most) everyone to get a day off work. But I think I'm fine with that, because it at least means family time.
One of the things we did for our Christmas day was go see Marley & Me, which just came out. I gotta say, it's funny, but also really sad. I hadn't read the book, so I wasn't really prepared for everything, and it made me think too much about our own Labrador, Diamond. She's old, but at the same time, still acts young. But watching Marley & Me made me think about it, and even though she's probably got a good several years in her, I don't think I'll ever be ready when her time comes. I guess I'll worry about that when we get there...
But now something different. The Spirit looks like a pretty good movie, and I'd like to see that after a while, once it's initial opening hype dies down. It just looks funny, adventurous, and visually stunning. Same goes for The Watchmen coming out in a few months... Dad says I should also check out Sin City, which I've anticipated, but it never appealed to me, but maybe I will.
Anyway, when we got back from Marley & Me, I had a headache, but my parents wanted to watch House Bunny since it's due back tomorrow. I fell asleep during that, mostly by choice because I wasn't going to fight it. It seems like since I've been home for break, sleep hasn't been a very good friend to me. That's why I'm up now at a quarter to five watching College Road Trip off my DVR and writing these words. It's probably because I'm not up all day taking in knowledge, 'cause at school I can easily call it quits by midnight on any given night. But here I'm just up late with nothing to do except surf the web or watch tv. Even when I'm tired, my eyes refuse to give in to sleep.
So, in an effort to keep occupied, what else can I write about? Well, how about my presents?
I got three games, two of them for Wii, one for PS2. Super Mario Galaxy I've played before, but it's a pretty fun game. Mario usually knows how to find adventure. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an awesome Wii game, and great if you want to feel like a Jedi (or in this case, a Sith). You actually push your hand forward to execute a force push, and swing the Wiimote to weild your lightsaber. I would be playing it right now if I didn't feel like just lying in bed, typing. The other game, Guitar Hero World Tour, I haven't played yet. The PS2 has been in the living room for the week, and it was either busy out there, or we weren't home.
I also got a Jeep calendar, a daily doodle desk calendar, Wall-E DVD, Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD set, a nice blanket, some fudge, a neat wolf sculpture candle to add to my collection, some hot cocoa mixes, and cool Nike running headphones. Plus, of course, various gift cards and cash. I can't really think if I'm leaving anything out...
As for right now, I don't know what I'm going to do, besides finish this up. It's five o'clock, so I may just stay awake for the day, watch some more DVR. If I stay up all day, maybe eventually I'll get this sleeping thing down at some point. Then New Year will just mess everything up, especially if I make it out to the Eve 6 concert in Aggieville. That reminds me, I need to check on the info for that...
Thirty-nine hours 'til Jeff Dunham!!

Ha ha, the story behind that: We were having some issues with the television and main DVR. Dad wasn't too pleased and was talking with an operator person about it, right before we were about to open presents of course...
